A French-language antique Petit Missel in an elegant deep-brown leather binding with fine gilt tooling on the cover and spine. Pocket-sized and very delicate, the book features three-side gilt edges and interior black-and-white illustrations and decorative borders in classical French botanical, architectural, and religious styles.

The binding, type and illustration style reflect the typical aesthetic of late 19th–early 20th century French religious books. A small, tactile object suited to antique book collections, vintage displays, still-life photography, window dressing or use as a prop.
