Description

A French-language religious liturgy and prayer book, bearing a dedication to Marie-Anne de Savoie, Princesse de Carignan. The text and printing display the characteristic paper and typographic feel of the 18th century. The original full brown leather binding has developed a rich, mottled patina. The spine retains multi-compartment gilt floral tooling and a green title label. Front and rear endpapers are hand-marbled, a typical 18th-century European binding feature.
