French Vintage Missal

Description

A small French missal published in Limoges: Missel des Gloires de Marie. Brown leather binding with blind-stamped Gothic window and floral motifs, double gilt lines to the cover and a continuous gilt vegetal roll on the inner cover. Pages contain numerous color figure illustrations with rose, lily and vine decorative borders; page edges are red. The overall aesthetic is typical of the Belle Époque / late 19th–early 20th century.

Suitable for antique book displays, European-style vintage interiors, still-life photography and cabinet-of-curiosities arrangements. Size approximately 18 × 10 cm.
