Description
A pocket-size French missal in reddish-brown leather with delicate gilt floral tooling on the cover. The spine shows five raised bands with the gilt-stamped title 'MISSEL'. The three book edges are richly gilt and remain very bright.
The inner pages include a gilt commemorative inscription reading "L.M. — 18 Juin 1905" and feature numerous finely engraved black-and-white illustrations and botanical motifs. Endpapers are lined in light fabric with an elaborate gilt border; overall workmanship is finer than typical prayer books.
