A French edition published in Tours in 1825 of a classical historical work by Claude Fleury (1640–1723). Based on historical sources, the text records and examines ancient social customs, family structures, agricultural practices, concepts of wealth and broader cultural life from a classical European scholarly perspective.

The volume retains its original leather binding with a warm brown patina. Printed in traditional letterpress, the paper shows natural age yellowing and an old-fashioned typeface. Small format, suitable for antique book collections, decorative display or still-life photography.
