Central figure is a cherub standing on a natural platform, supporting a tilted large jug from which water pours to form a floral-shaped basin below. The background shows tall plant leaves (banana and reeds), suggesting abundance. The frame, top and bottom are finished with fine relief work reflecting the ordered quality of Dutch ceramics. The lower spout visually continues the painted jug’s flow. The cherub and flowing water evoke innocence, health and continuity—a popular 19th-century domestic decorative theme.
